Privacy Policy — Zaari

Applies to the Zaari rider app (com.zaari.rider) and the Zaari Driver app (com.zaari.driver). Last updated: 25 July 2026.

Zaari ("we", "us") operates a ride-hailing platform in Bengaluru, India. This policy explains what information our apps collect, why, and how it is handled.

Information we collect

• Account details — name, mobile number, and email address, used to create and manage your account and to verify sign-in via one-time password (OTP).
• Location — precise device location, used to match riders with nearby drivers, show pickup/drop points, provide live ride tracking, and calculate fares. For drivers, location continues to be collected while the app is in the background during an active online/driving session so that dispatch and live tracking keep working. Rider location is used only while the app is in the foreground.
• Driver documents (driver app only) — photos of licence, registration, and related documents uploaded for verification.
• Ride and transaction data — trip history, fares, wallet balance, and payment status. Card/UPI payments are processed by our payment partner (Razorpay); we do not store your card or banking credentials.
• Device data — push-notification token and basic device information, used to deliver ride updates and offers.
• Contacts (rider app, optional) — only if you choose "book for someone else", the contact you pick is used to attach the passenger's name and number to that booking. We do not upload your contact list.

How we use information

• To provide and operate rides: matching, dispatch, live tracking, fare calculation, payments, and receipts.
• To send service notifications (ride status, driver offers, payment confirmations) via push notification and SMS.
• To keep the platform safe: driver verification, fraud prevention, and support/dispute resolution.

Sharing

• Riders and drivers see each other's first name, photo, vehicle details, and live trip location for the duration of a ride.
• Service providers acting on our behalf: payment processing (Razorpay), SMS/OTP delivery, push notifications and analytics (Google Firebase), and maps (Google Maps / OpenStreetMap).
• We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information where required by law.

Retention & deletion

Account and ride records are retained while your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and safety purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below; we will action verified requests within 30 days.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored on access-controlled servers.

Children

Zaari is not directed at children; you must be 18 or older to hold an account.
